The Start of a Journey

The long drive to India has begun! And wow, did nothing go as planned the last few weeks before I left. I encountered a lot of issues right before leaving such as the mechanic telling me that the bridge holding my front suspension on was snapped and needed to be replaces before I could leave. He wasn’t able to order it in time so I had to order it from germany myself. There was also a problem when I moved, as I could not move my address to my mom’s place temporarely as I had planned, which ended up taking a few days of talking to the government housing department and my insurance for the millionth time in a month. As well as so many other smaller issues I never saw coming, most of which had to be resolved before I departed.

Friends coming along to Hamburg

But alas! I got to hop on the bike and start my journey, and the first stop was Hamburg with two of my good friends over the weekend. Since it would be a while before we could see each other again, we ended up spending most of the time chatting and having some beers.

Since we were only there for the weekend, we had limited time to go explore the city. But we did end up going to the Miniature Wunderland and did some bouldering in a climbing gym, which were both very nice. It felt like the weekend ended just a quickly as it started, and we had to part ways for now with them driving back to Denmark and me heading towards Munich. Having my friends there for the first tiny part of my trip was so great, it helped a lot with the anxious feeling of leaving everything behind and suddenly not having a home. Despite how much I’ve looked forward to this trip, it’s still quite nerve-racking being on the road with just me, my bike and the world in front of me. But it’ll all be worth it!

Luckily, I love traveling and a good challenge, and I don’t doubt that this trip will be both exciting but also even more of a challenge to come. I’ll try to keep you all posted as I progress with my trip, but here in the beginning I am driving every day so I can get to Munich in time to pick up the Carnet document, which leaves me with very little time to write blogs or post videos.
